Conventional plastics (polypropylene, polyethylene), synthetic superabsorbents (sodium polyacrylate), artificial fragrances, deodorants, dyes, chlorine bleach, latex, parabens, formaldehyde, dioxins
Most conventional panty liners can contain a large amount of petrochemical-based plastic and synthetic super absorbent polymers that are derived from crude oil. They also typically contain artificial fragrances and dyes that may cause rashes or irritations.
Sparkle panty liners are USDA Certified Biobased Products crafted with plant-based ingredients that are gentle to your skin and kind to the planet. They do not contain chlorine bleach, dyes or fragrances.
Many “green” panty liners use cellulose based fibers such as cotton or viscose only in the top layer. They continue to use conventional petrochemical-based plastics (such as polypropylene, polyethylene) as well as synthetic superabsorbents (such as sodium polyacrylate, which is a crude oil derivative) throughout all the other layers.
We have replaced conventional plastics from the top sheet, absorbent core, back film and packaging with sustainable ingredients such as cellulose fibers as well as plant-based bioplastics. Sparkle panty liners do not use any synthetic super absorbent polymers.
Using renewable, plant-based panty liners can help us reduce non-renewable, fossil-fuel use. Compared to conventional panty liners that can contain a large amount of petrochemical-based plastics, Sparkle panty liners and packaging are made using biobased materials.
By replacing conventional plastics from the top sheet, absorbent core, back film and packaging with sustainable ingredients such as cellulose fibers and plant-based bioplastic, we can say goodbye to plastics that could pollute our planet for 500-600 years after disposal.
Yes, you can use Sparkle panty liners every day.
Panty liners can help protect your underwear from everyday vaginal discharge. Some people use it at the very beginning or end of their periods to manage spotting or very light flow. During your period, they can provide extra protection when using menstrual cups, disks or tampons.
