Sparkle pads:
Designed with plant-based materials in every layer - no conventional plastics or synthetic gels in topsheet, absorbent core or back layer - making them suitable for sensitive skin.

Other "organic" pads:
Many “organic” pads use cotton/plant-based material only in the top sheet. The rest of the layers are still made of plastic and synthetic superabsorbent gels.

Conventional pads:
Most conventional pads contain plastic in all the layers.

No Synthetic Gel

Conventional pads
Conventional pads (and many organic pads) contain hidden synthetic gels or hidden synthetic superabsorbents (SAPs), which are made from petrochemicals. This non-biodegradable gel could pollute the planet for over 500 years after disposal.

Sparkle pads
Sparkle pads use sustainable plant cellulose in the absorbent core - our pads don’t contain any synthetic gels.

Leakproof pads

While many people think plant-based pads don’t work or they leak from the sides, Sparkle pads have been especially designed with advanced leakproof wings, rapid fluid distribution channels, and side barriers to prevent accidental leaks.

Crafted for your comfort

With rapid fluid distribution channels, advanced stay-in-place wings and leakproof side barriers, Sparkle pads are not just sustainable but are also high-performing products.

Gentle to Your Skin. Kind to the Planet.

Sparkle pads reached a disintegration percentage of 100% in less than 8 weeks, when tested according to ISO 16929.

Conventional pads that contain large amounts of plastic pollute the planet for around 500 years.

Biodegradation in composting:
Sparkle pads reached a disintegration percentage of 100% in less than 8 weeks, when tested according to ISO 16929 (Standard Test Method for Determination of the Degree of Disintegration of Plastic Material under Defined Composting Conditions in a Pilot-scale Test).

Biodegradation in landfill:
Sparkle pads reached relative biodegradation of around 75% when compared to the positive reference (cellulose), and absolute biodegradation of around 60% after 15 days of incubation (which represents around one year in a landfill), according to ASTM D5511 (Standard Test Method for Determining Anaerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials Under High-Solids Anaerobic-Digestion Conditions).

Conventional pads that contain large amounts of plastic remain unchanged in a landfill for around 500 years.

Note: Biodegradation and disintegration of any product depends on a number of factors such as the disposal location and other specific conditions.

Soft pads that stay in place

These pads have a good thickness for overnight use and give plenty of coverage. The adhesive is really good. They stay in place and don't shift around while I sleep. The wings stick well and don't bunch up. The material is soft against skin and I didn't experience any irritation.

Very Absorbent

I hope WF continues to stock these. Both the Maxi and the Ultra are comfortable and very absorbent. The Maxi Overnight has a very soft cover and holds a lot of fluid. I noticed no odors unlike the pads made with polymers.

Good overnight coverage, smooth & gentle. Could be a bit more breathable.

These have a good overnight coverage with a longer length. The thickness is a bit thick than I'd like so it's not as breathable as regular cotton pads. But I get that this is more for heavier flow and overnight use. The material felt gentle enough for long hours overnight. I'm glad it's not one of those rough irritating material. The surface feels smooth without any weird bumpy embossed design. Overall, these are solid overnight pads that feel gentle and durable.

Surprisingly absorbing

I purchased the overnight ones because I've been having leaking issues lately during my periods and was pleasantly surprised when these did not leak at all overnight. They're really comfortable too.

Absorbent and comfortable

These pads are long. If you need more coverage in the back or front or both these might be for you. You are going to get extra coverage at both ends. They are comfortable and absorbent. The wings help with placement and with keeping the pad in place. The material doesn't bunch but the pad can wrinkle up a bit in the most narrow area. And in spite of them being so long they aren't uncomfortable; I don't feel any bulk while I'm wearing them. These are a good product and the extra length can be very helpful.

Comfy at night and at day too

Sparkle Pads for Women strike a careful balance between protection and comfort. The material is soft and breathable, which feels gentle on sensitive skin while still holding up through heavy flow. The wings stay in place, helping the pad feel secure without shifting, and the absorbency is impressive, no leaks even overnight. Being unscented, they avoid irritation from fragrances while still feeling fresh. The surface is smooth against the skin, and the pad doesn't bunch or create discomfort during movement, which is often a problem with overnight options. For a plant-based product, they perform on par with conventional pads, making them a thoughtful choice for those who prioritize skin safety and environmental considerations. With 40 in a pack, they offer good value by combining reliable protection with the reassurance of gentle, sustainable materials.

Nice pads

These are really nice size and shape. Very good length to protect the areas that need protection as I move around. I'm really grateful for the extra length compared to daytime pads for making this easier to adjust and turn in my sleep without worrying about leaks or overflow. Not super thick these aren't as puffy as my extra absorbency pads but the length makes up for that. These are still pretty absorbent and I absolutely love that their plant-based. Comfortable to wear overnight and I found that the pad did not shift around as I slept. Adhered well to the underwear I just wish they were a little bit thicker and more like an extra strength pad but with the extra length for the overnight. As it is I'm happy to have these have the extra length though!

gentle on sensitive skin

This pack comes with 4 small packages of 10 pads each, all individually wrapped, which makes them really convenient to keep in a bag or drawer. They absorb well so far, and I haven't noticed any leakage, even overnight. What I really appreciate is that they're plant‑based and free of chlorine, dyes, and fragrances. They're also hypoallergenic, which is great for me because I have very sensitive skin and chronic allergies. They feel soft, don't irritate, and just feel clean and comfortable to use. For what you get, I think the price is fairly reasonable. A solid option if you need something gentle but still reliably absorbent.

Worked great for me

I ordered the overnight pads. They're the perfect size for overnight use for me. The material is soft and breathable but still plenty absorbent for my heavy days. The pads did not leak and stayed in place using sticky back and wings. The pads didn't feel any more bulky than other brands and weren't noisy during wear. The packaging isn't super noisy either. I did not notice any fragrance to the pad or packaging. My package came in a pack of 4 boxes that contained 10 pads each. At the current price, they are about the same price as a few other "organic" brands I've been at the store.

Good for the planet and pleasant to wear

What I liked: Large overnight size Not super thick and bulky Stays in place No plastics Feels soft I'm 50 and getting close to the point where I don't have to worry about a period but still have occasional spotting. I need wide coverage because biology hates me and my job involves a lot of sitting so blood likes to sneak around standard size pads. These pads work great and you get four boxes so you can keep a pack where you need it for emergencies. No complaints.

Comfortable and Absorbent Overnight Pads

ve been using these Sparkle sanitary pads overnight, and they work well for heavy flow. The pads are very soft and feel gentler than regular cotton pads. I like that they are plant-based and unscented, which helps avoid irritation. The wings keep them in place through the night without shifting. They absorb a lot and give good leak protection.

good value

I tested these pads overnight and found them absorbent and secure. The wings help keep the pad in place, and the length provides good coverage for nighttime use. The material feels breathable and comfortable, and I didn't experience irritation during wear. They performed reliably throughout the night without shifting. These are a solid option for overnight protection with a plant-based design.

Finally, plant based pads that work

I was really skeptical of trying these, and had pretty low hopes initially. But I wanted to try these due to the sustainability factor, plus I'm allergic to a number of synthetic components these days, and thought I'd be safer using a more natural product. So far these pads have exceeded all of my expectations! They are generously long, even for an overnight pad, and there's ample protection while sleeping. The 'sidewalls' are pretty low, but so far zero issues, even during heavier flow. The surface stays comfortably dry as well, and locks away a seemingly good amount of liquid. Actual product aside, the packaging for the box and the individual wrappers are all paper-based, which is a nice change from all of the plastic waste. The only downside is that these are a bit on the pricy side, getting 40 for $20. But honestly I'm happy to pay for something of this quality that's also more sustainable. Thanks, Sparkle!

Finally a Truly Plant-Based Pad That Feels Thoughtful

It's surprisingly hard to find pads that are genuinely made with mostly natural materials, so I was happy with this set right away. I've run into the issue before where a product is labeled organic, but after digging deeper, only the outer layer is organic cotton while the rest is still full of plastics and synthetic absorbent gels. These don't seem to fall into that trap, and I appreciate the transparency and simpler material makeup. The top layer of the pad feels super smooth, almost silky, and very gentle on sensitive skin. Even with heavy absorbency and overnight use, it stayed comfortable and didn't feel stiff or bulky. The wings held well, and I didn't have any issues with shifting or leaks. Being unscented is another plus, especially for anyone trying to avoid unnecessary additives. Performance wise, they absorb well without that overly swollen gel feeling some pads get. The overall construction feels solid, and the pad keeps its shape instead of bunching up. They feel thoughtfully designed rather than mass produced with shortcuts. For a 40 count pack, this is a great value, especially considering the plant based materials and leak protection. If you've been searching for a more natural alternative that doesn't compromise on comfort or absorbency, these are a solid option.

Soft, Secure, And Great For Heavy Nights

These pads are genuinely impressive. The material is soft in a way that feels more comfortable than regular cotton pads, and the plant based design sits smoothly against the skin without irritation. There is no scent at all, which I loved. The wings stay in place and the pad doesn't shift around, even when sleeping. The absorbency is strong enough for heavy nights without feeling bulky. They pull moisture in quickly, so you never feel damp, and the surface stays clean and dry longer than expected. The pads also stay fresh in the wrapper and do not have that strong chemical smell some brands have. The forty count pack lasts a while, and for how well these work, it feels like great value for money. They are soft, comfortable, reliable, and actually make overnight protection feel easier and more secure.

Comfortable, eco-friendly maxi pads

These maxi pads from Sparkle are easy to use and very comfortable. This is a 40 count, but they come in smaller boxes of 10. I like the smaller boxes, as I can store them in different bathrooms in the house, so they're accessible wherever I am. They're maxi pads, so they're definitely thick, though probably not as thick as the normal name brand maxi pad I tend to use. To some extent, I like that, because it means they're more comfortable and feel less like I'm wearing a diaper or something. I don't have a super heavy flow, so the thickness of these work great for me, but I could see someone with a heavier flow having more issues with these. The pads are soft and comfortable, so they don't cause any irritation, whether you're wearing them over night or walking around with one on during the day. Neither the wrapper nor the pads themselves have the usual plastics you'd get with most other brands. They're compostable, so biodegradable, and a much more environmentally friendly option. That does, however, mean you're paying a premium for this brand, as the cost/pad is double (if not moreso) than most other brands out there. If you want a more eco-friendly option and are willing to pay a premium for it, these pads are a great option!

My favorite overnight pad

I tested these overnight pads during a few medium flow nights and was impressed with their absorbency and overall performance, especially given some mixed feedback from other reviewers. Out of curiosity, I even poured soda onto one pad (shown in my video) to get a visual sense of how much liquid they could hold. While it was obviously more than would occur in real wear, it confirmed the pad's absorption and fluid distribution. When I pulled the pad in various directions and rolled it, no soda escaped, even after a few seconds of being inside the pad. That was impressive. Also, no soda leaked through the pad to where the panties would be in a real-life scenario. In actual use, I experienced no leaks overnight, including while moving and changing positions, and the wider, fanned out back provided good rear coverage. The pad is on the thicker side compared to mainstream overnight options I've tried, but the bulk softened and conformed to my body, making it comfortable. I expected some thickness from an overnight pad, and in this case the added structure felt worthwhile for the security it provided. The top layer is very soft, completely unscented, and did not cause any irritation. The adhesive and wings held firmly through tossing and turning, with no shifting or bunching, and the surface wicked moisture away well enough to stay comfortable through the night. While these are marketed as plant based and eco conscious, what really matters to me is performance, and these delivered. The sustainability aspect is a bonus, not the main reason for my rating. For medium overnight flow, they provided reliable protection, comfort, and excellent 'stay put' adhesion. Based on absorbency, skin comfort, and leak prevention, I would confidently give these 5 stars and consider them a strong overnight option, especially for anyone who wants dependable coverage without fragrance or irritation.

Love that these are plant based and more environmental

To me, the best thing about these pads is that they're more eco-friendly than regular plastic-heavy pads and even other brands that have a cotton top layer but plastic elsewhere. The top layer is oeko-tex cellulose and all the other layers are also plant-based. The box lists the ingredients for each layer (photo included). I have always felt very guilty about the pads I use going to landfill and being difficult to break down since they use plastic (including in the wrappers). These feel much less bad to throw away each time because these are compostable so they won't just sit for years. I love that the wrapper is paper. Additionally I checked with their customer service and the outside box is recyclable (They said: "The box can be recycled. We do not use plastic lamination film on the box (that many brands use). We use a special printing and drying technique to achieve the premium effect.") The pad itself is as absorbent as other pads I use (kotex, stayfree, both with soft cottony top layers). The size is comparable to the stayfree overnight, but still slightly smaller (see photos). However, one negative is that it is slightly narrower and doesn't go very high up the back. If I were lying on my back and had flow, the pad might not catch the leak since it doesn't go all the way up the back. I would prefer for the padding to go out wider and longer in the back. I had no skin irritation. The adhesive worked well -- stuck firmly but peeled off without issue later on. Overall, I think these are a great eco-conscious alternative to other pads with all layers being plant based, even the "bio-based plastic" back layer which is still leak-proof. The only negative to me is the slightly narrower size. (The length I would prefer longer, but is comparable to other brands.) However, since it isn't a huge difference, I will not deduct stars. Just be aware that it is around 13" long and 5" wide in the back with padding in the middle being only around 3" wide. As long as these measurements work for you I'd highly recommend these and I would personally buy them again especially if they were priced lower.

These feel more natural and comfortable

I've tried a lot of overnight pads over the years, and these Sparkle pads are honestly one of the better ones I've used. The first thing I noticed is how soft they are. They actually feel softer than a lot of “cotton” pads I've bought before, which was a nice surprise. I also like that they're plant-based and unscented. I'm pretty sensitive to fragranced products, so it's a relief not having that strong perfume smell some pads have. For overnight use, they've worked really well for me. I have a heavier flow the first couple nights and these held up without leaking, even when I move around a lot in my sleep. The wings stick well too and keep everything in place. They are a little thicker than some ultra-thin pads, but for overnight protection I actually prefer that because it feels more secure. Overall I'm really happy with them and will probably keep buying them.

Thick and long.

I'm giving these 4 stars because they're pretty thick and diaper-like. They kind of remind me of the pads you would get in those public bathroom machines. I understand that they're plant based and eco friendly, but…. I just don't want to trade comfort for plant based products. They're 12” long, which provide a lot of protection for overnight use, but between how thick they are, and how long they are, they just aren't very comfortable. If plant based is a priority for you, then this is probably a great fit for you. If comfort is your priority, stick with Always. 😂

Great material

These are soft and comfortable. They work as well as the name brands for me. I like that it's organic material and better for the planet.

Best For Low-Medium Flow Girlies

First, these pads are soft and comfy to wear. They don't cause any irritation and do a good job at preventing odor. They're good quality and come out to about fifty cents a pad, which isn't too bad for plant-based pads. I love that they're safer for me to use, without the bleach or synthetic materials derived from cruel oil. Second, the pads leak capacity sits at roughly 20ml of fluid (see photos). The average menstrual cup for heavy flows is around 30ml. This pad would not be a good choice if you're a heavy flow girly. I recommend it for lighter days, if so. Overall, they're good quality pads that stay in place and absorb well for us light-medium flow girls. I think it's a good value for the price, but recommend anyone with heavier flows to look elsewhere. 4/5 stars

I find them comfy

First off, it helps if you know a bit about the reviewer as we all have different cycles. I have very heavy ones and tend to wear as thick and long pads as I can get. First impression for someone who hadn't seen these before, they arrived in good condition and looked nice. They do have wings, and they are longer than some pads I have seen, but not longer than some I have used. Still, long enough that I found them quite comfortable. They aren't very thick, these feel more like a liner if you're someone used to wearing thicker ones for absorbency due to heavier cycles and fear of tampons. I wouldn't say I'd be able to use these on my days 1-3, but they'd suffice day 5 or so, and that's how I am using them. I haven't had any issues doing it that way. Value wise, they are very much up there but you are also paying for a plant based pad and they do seem good quality. I just simply wish they offered thicker pads of at least this length for those who have very heavy cycles.

Comfortable, Gentle Pads That Work Well for Sensitive Skin

I have pretty sensitive skin, so I am careful about period products, and these Sparkle pads have been a pleasant surprise. They feel noticeably softer than many mainstream options, and I appreciate that they are made without fragrances or dyes. I did not experience itching or irritation, even on longer days, which is usually my biggest concern. Performance has been reliable. They stay in place well, and the wings hold securely without bunching or shifting. The wider back adds extra confidence against leaks, and absorption has been solid for regular flow days without feeling bulky. I also like the plant based approach, which feels more thoughtful without sacrificing protection. Pros: • Very soft and comfortable for sensitive skin • No fragrance or dyes • Stays in place with secure wings • Reliable absorption for regular flow • Thoughtful, plant based materials Cons: • Not ideal for very heavy flow days Conclusion: Overall, these pads strike a good balance between comfort, skin friendliness, and dependable performance. A solid choice if you want gentle protection without irritation.
